11- Plus Preparation Programme
for Year 4 and 5
The Peepal Tree Learning Summer programme has been created specifically for those children that are either considering attempting the 11 Plus entrance exams or for those that will be sitting their entrance exams in January 2021 / September 2021.
Attempting the 11 Plus is by no means an easy task for both students and parents alike. Our Summer programme, designed for Year 4 and 5 students in July is a great way of getting the students to know what is involved to pass such an exam and what they need to work towards. We encourage parents to sit in through all or part of the event so that they get a fair idea of the working patterns that they can adopt at home to help their child prepare for such an exam.
Both, Year 4 and 5 students will be divided into their year groups to benefit from the programme. The year 4 group will focus on preparation techniques for the coming year while the programme for the Year 5 group will work as a crash course in covering the key topics for both Maths and English. The tutors will revise different topics at each session which help to strengthen a child’s understanding and ability to answer such questions quickly and correctly during the exam.
Key topics covered during our Summer Programme for both year groups are listed below but not limited to:
- Maths
- Numbers
- Fractions
- Percentages
- Ratio and Proportion
- Angles
- Word Problems
- English
- Reading Comprehension (SPAG: Answering in full sentences)
- Descriptive Writing
