11- Plus Preparation Programme
for Year 4
The Peepal Tree Learning Summer programme has been created specifically for those children that are either considering attempting the 11 Plus entrance exams or for those that will be sitting their entrance exams in September 2019 / January 2020.
Attempting the 11 Plus is by no means an easy task for both students and parents alike. Our Summer programme designed for Year 4 students in July is a great way of getting the students to know what is involved and what they need to work towards. We encourage parents to sit in through all or part of the event so that they get a fair idea of the working patterns that they can adopt at home to help their child prepare for such an exam.
Our Year 5 Summer programme in August works as a crash course in covering the key topics in both Maths and English. The tutors revise different topics at each session which help to strengthen a child’s understanding and ability to answer such questions quickly and correctly during the exam.
Key topics covered during our Summer Programme for both year groups are listed below but not limited to:
- Ratio and Proportion
- Word Problems
- Reading Comprehension (SPAG: Answering in full sentences)
- Descriptive Writing
- Grammar, Spellings, Subject / Verb agreement
- Writing to Persuade / Persuasive Techniques
- Creative Writing (Real and fictional stories, Paragraphs, Vocabulary)
Join us today and benefit by learning a systematic way of covering topics that are essential for the 11 plus exams.
Our session runs for 4.5 hours Monday-Thursday during the below dates. We include 2 hours of Maths and 2 hours of English each day with a break of half an hour through the day. We cover different topics on all 4 days. Parents are encouraged to book their children on all days to benefit from the full range of topics on offer.
All students joining us must bring a note book, pencil / pen and eraser for use during the session. Students in Year 5 must also bring their geometry sets. All parents are encouraged to provide a snack and bottle of water for their children too. We request that all snacks are nut free. Please read our Terms and Conditions before booking.
